Barbara Heinrich
Barbara Heinrich's jewelry is produced in 18K yellow gold or platinum. The naturally rich color of these metals is enhanced with luxurious surface texture imparted by hammering or scratching and roller printing. For example, her signature "Milky Way" design incorporates small celestial symbols, which are either embossed or pierced (cut) in to the metal.
Then she adds diamonds, which are delicately set in to the surface, and the jewelry takes on a luscious quality. Another signature look is the use of granulation, which can be seen primarily on Barbara's rings, earrings, and pendants. This historic element is always juxtaposed with very contemporary forms. It is for this reason that Barbara Heinrich's work can best be described as "Contemporary Classic Jewelry."
